Peer Research Assistant
Amanda has an interest in wellness and health and helping others achieve their goals. As a consumer, she knows how important managing wellness is in recovery from mental illness. She has also had solid experience with psychosocial rehabilitation principles, and engaging groups of people in workshops.
Amanda has been involved as a peer researcher in the Imagining Inclusion Photovoice research study. She has helped people with lived experience talk about their photos to gain deeper insight and information on how they experience community, inclusion health and wellbeing. In 2015, she was a peer research coordinator for a study on leisure and education bursaries with the University of Illinois. She is looking forward to working on the new Photovoice project and is sure she will learn a lot from the participants!
